Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has urged Kano residents to consider investing in shares of the Dangote Refinery, while cautioning them against risking essential household funds.
Speaking at the launch of the share subscription scheme in Kano, Sanusi advised prospective investors to use only money they could afford to set aside for an extended period.
He said he wants Kano residents to become shareholders in major Nigerian businesses and participate more actively in the capital market, describing the opportunity as a way to deepen financial inclusion and local ownership.
Sanusi also commended Aliko Dangote for his investments and contribution to Nigeria’s industrial development.
Dangote, meanwhile, encouraged Nigerians, including ordinary workers and small-income earners, to participate in the share offer and become stakeholders in the refinery.
The Emir stressed that anyone considering the investment should first protect essential needs such as school fees, housing and other household expenses.
