BREAKING: Kaduna Activist Arrested After Calling For Tinubu, Governor Sani, Other APC Candidates To Be Voted Out

The Kaduna State Government, under the administration of Governor Uba Sani, has reportedly ordered the arrest of political activist Zamani Musa, popularly known as Mycah Dangata, over comments urging residents to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Dangata was arrested after publicly campaigning against the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, while encouraging Kaduna residents to vote against all APC candidates.

A source revealed that the arrest followed the circulation of a video recorded shortly after the APC primaries, in which Dangata openly declared his support for the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) and former Senator Danjuma Laah. In the video, he also advocated for the governorship position to be zoned to Southern Kaduna.

“There is a popular video Dangata made after the APC primaries in which he started campaigning and declared support for the NDC and Danjuma Laah, insisting that power should shift to Southern Kaduna,” the source said.

The source further disclosed that Dangata was allegedly arrested by Operation Fushin Kaduna, a security outfit established by the state government in collaboration with the Kaduna State Police Command and other security agencies to tackle banditry, kidnapping, and gunrunning.

“He was arrested by Operation Fushin Kaduna, a state security outfit that includes police personnel,” the source added.

Another source suggested that Dangata may have attracted the government’s displeasure after making comments that compared Governor Uba Sani unfavourably with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

“I think he may have offended the government by stating that El-Rufai performed better than Uba Sani,” the source said.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, Dangata, speaking in Hausa, criticised Governor Sani’s leadership style and political approach while praising former Governor El-Rufai for what he described as a more people-centred style of governance.

Calling on residents to unite against the APC, Dangata said that everyone who genuinely cares about Kaduna State should join forces to challenge the ruling party at all levels.

He argued that the APC no longer represented the interests of the people and urged voters to reject President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and all APC candidates in future elections.

Dangata further claimed that, despite differing opinions about him, former Governor Nasir El-Rufai demonstrated greater concern for the welfare of Kaduna residents. According to him, El-Rufai allowed communities more freedom in choosing their political representatives, unlike the current administration, which he accused of imposing preferred candidates on local communities.

He described such actions as undemocratic and inconsistent with democratic principles, insisting that Kaduna residents must unite to bring about political change through the ballot box.
