Troops Destroy ISWAP Waterway Logistics Network, Kill Suspected Terrorists In Borno

The Nigerian military has announced the killing of more than 30 دہشت elements following a coordinated offensive by troops under Operation HADIN KAI in Borno State.

According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operation—carried out on the night of April 21–22, 2026—involved precision airstrikes targeting logistics networks of the Islamic State West Africa Province along the Lake Chad waterways near the Kaniram Island axis.

Acting on intelligence gathered through surveillance and reconnaissance, military air assets identified a cluster of more than 30 دہشت boats being used to coordinate movement and supply activities. After confirming the targets, the military launched strikes that destroyed several boats and disrupted the ჯგუფ’s logistics base.

The operation reportedly weakened the militants’ mobility and operational capacity. Follow-up strikes, guided by real-time intelligence, targeted fleeing fighters in nearby vegetation, resulting in the neutralisation of over 30 individuals. Survivors were said to have scattered, indicating a breakdown in coordination among the group.

In a separate but related strike, troops also targeted positions in Sowolwolo within the Sambisa Forest. The military said precision-guided attacks destroyed three gun trucks and eliminated additional fighters in the area.

Post-strike assessments, supported by intelligence reports, indicated significant losses among the militants, including signs of mass burials in areas such as Mallam Fatori. Ground troops have since moved in to secure surrounding المناطق and prevent regrouping by fleeing عناصر.

Military authorities praised the troops for their performance and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining sustained pressure on terrorist groups operating in the region.
