The record-breaking screening took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, surpassing the previous record of 43,624 viewers, which was set in 2015.

Guinness World Records confirmed that the 51,000 attendees qualified for the record after remaining at the venue from the beginning of the film until the end.

Produced by Nora Awolowo and directed by Fatimah Binta Gimsay, Black Market became the first Nollywood production to achieve the record.

The film features several prominent Nigerian actors, including Omowunmi Dada, Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Scarlet Gomez and Susan Pwajok.

The historic screening attracted thousands of film enthusiasts to TBS, turning the Lagos venue into the centre of attention for Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
