Amina Mohammed to Return to Nigeria After Decade at UN, Rules Out Political Office

United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed says she plans to return to Nigeria after completing her decade-long tenure at the UN, but has ruled out pursuing political office.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with ARISE News, Mohammed said she intends to use the networks, experience and visibility gained during her time at the United Nations to contribute to Nigeria and the wider African continent.

She described her decade at the UN as a privilege and said returning home may not be easy, but remains the right decision.

Mohammed added that while Nigeria would be her base, she hopes to contribute to Africa more broadly.
