Dangote Group plans to invest more than $10 billion in Africa’s power sector, citing the need to address the continent’s electricity deficit, with more than 600 million people estimated to lack reliable access to electricity.

Aliko Dangote said reliable power is critical to Africa’s economic development and that the investment forms part of the group’s broader plans to support industrial growth across the continent.

He also highlighted the infrastructure challenges encountered while developing major projects, including land acquisition, difficult terrain, road construction and port development.
