Uber Ends 12-Year Operations in Nigeria
Uber has announced the end of its operations in Nigeria, effective Wednesday, September 2, 2026, following what the company described as a “thorough review” of its business.
The ride-hailing giant launched in Lagos in 2014, becoming a major part of urban transportation in the country. Uber thanked Nigerians for trusting its platform over the years and acknowledged that its exit could disrupt the routines of users.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and said its Help Centre would remain available until September 23, 2026, to assist users with final account-related enquiries.
After 12 years in the Nigerian market, Uber has now officially brought its operations in the country to an end.
