Miami Airport Chaos as UK-Based Nigerian Woman Attempts to Snatch Child
September 3, 2025
Panic erupted at Miami International Airport after a UK-based Nigerian woman allegedly attempted to snatch a 4-year-old boy from his mother.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Alvina Omisri Agba from Luton, England, shocked travelers when she refused to return the crying child, repeatedly insisting he was hers.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident unfolded around 4 a.m. at Security Checkpoint 5, where the boy’s mother, Nadine Joseph, was queuing. Agba had reportedly offered to help calm the boy but instead walked away with him.
When the mother caught up, she found Agba sitting on the floor, wrapping her arms and legs tightly around the child.
“She kept screaming, ‘This is my child!’ while the mother tried desperately to pull him back,” one witness recounted.
The confrontation escalated, prompting airline staff to intervene. They managed to pull the boy to safety behind the counter, but Agba allegedly crawled underneath in a frantic attempt to grab him again before passengers blocked her.
Deputies arrested Agba after a brief chase through the terminal. When questioned, she allegedly claimed she acted because “God told her to do it” and said she intended to take the boy to a rainbow-painted wall to calm him.
The child sustained minor scratches on his neck but was able to continue his journey with his mother.
Authorities confirmed Agba was neither intoxicated nor under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. She has been charged with interfering with custody and battery and is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center on a $3,500 bond.
The bizarre case has sparked outrage, with many Nigerians online expressing shock that a young woman of Nigerian descent could be involved in such a disturbing episode abroad.
