Babajide Sanwo-Olu is set to commission the newly redeveloped Tolu Schools Complex in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

The Tolu Schools Complex, located in Ajegunle within Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, sits on approximately 11.73 hectares of land. It comprises 36 public schools, including 31 secondary schools and five primary schools, serving a densely populated community of about 20,000 pupils.

According to the Lagos State Government, the scale and transformation of the project reflect its commitment to people-focused governance. The complex has been upgraded with modern facilities such as a standard football pitch with race tracks, a multipurpose sports court, a fire service station, and a health centre. Security has also been enhanced with perimeter fencing and controlled access gates.

To support sustainability and efficiency, the school now features a water harvesting system, a biodigester, and solar panels to ensure a stable power supply.

Before the intervention by the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat administration, many of the buildings within the complex were in a state of disrepair. However, after over four decades since its establishment under former governor Lateef Jakande, the facility has undergone a complete transformation with modern infrastructure.

The redevelopment also prioritises inclusivity. New buildings have been constructed for People Living with Disabilities, equipped with vertical lift systems to aid movement across floors, ensuring accessibility for all students.

In addition, a vocational training centre has been introduced, offering students opportunities to learn practical skills such as fashion design, tailoring, masonry, plumbing, and other crafts.

The revamped Tolu Schools Complex now stands as a model of an all-inclusive educational environment, aimed at improving learning outcomes and ensuring that no child is left behind.
