30 Students, Teacher Hospitalised After Suspected Gas Leak in Ogun School

About 30 students and a teacher have been hospitalised following a suspected gas leak at Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School in Ijebu Ode.

The incident occurred shortly after the morning assembly on Wednesday, when a strange gaseous substance reportedly spread across the school premises.

Eyewitnesses said panic ensued as students and staff began experiencing breathing difficulties, with several collapsing.

The affected individuals were promptly taken to Ijebu Ode General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of the incident. While some witnesses suspect the gas may have come from a nearby source, others believe it could have originated from chemicals within the school laboratory.

The Vice Principal, Adeola Borogun, is expected to provide further updates as investigations continue.
