Terrorists in the early hours of Monday attacked Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting an unspecified number of female students and killing at least one staff member.

The assailants stormed the school at about 5:52 a.m., shooting indiscriminately as students prepared for their morning activities. A school guard was also injured in the assault, according to HumAngle.

Sources told SaharaReporters that the gunmen abducted several students and left the community in fear and confusion.

Residents, however, say the attackers have not travelled far with the abducted girls and are calling on both the Federal and State governments to act swiftly to rescue them.

In a related development, SaharaReporters earlier reported a deadly attack on Rogun Village in the Kpada District of Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State. Two security operatives were killed during the incident.

A security source said the attack occurred late Sunday night when terrorists—locally referred to as bandits—stormed the Rogun police outpost and opened fire on officers on duty. The ensuing gun battle lasted several minutes.

When the shooting stopped, two security personnel — a police constabulary and a vigilante officer — were confirmed dead.
