Nigerian Army Dismisses Four Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram in the North-East
Pictures obtained by SaharaReporters on Wednesday show four dismissed Nigerian Army personnel in their desert camouflage uniforms after their removal from service.
The dismissed frontline soldiers are:
-
Mukaila Mutari – Service Number: 22NA/88/10253
-
Isah Emmanuel – Service Number: 22NA/83/7262
-
Kolomo Alex – Service Number: 24NA/86/5151
-
Ibrahim Musa – Service Number: 24NA/86/0885
According to documents seen by SaharaReporters, their dismissal was officially approved on Monday, November 17, 2025.
In military terms, a standing order refers to a general instruction or procedure that remains in force until it is specifically canceled or amended. It may also be an operational directive issued by a senior officer. However, the exact standing order allegedly violated by the four soldiers has not yet been disclosed.
The dismissal coincided with the confirmation that Brigadier-General Musa Uba had been captured and killed by ISWAP terrorists on the same day.
Last Saturday, SaharaReporters reported that senior military commanders — including the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar — visited the Damboa military base in Borno State to coordinate rescue efforts for abducted personnel.
The abduction followed a violent ambush by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), which resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
Earlier, SaharaReporters documented how ISWAP forces launched a coordinated attack on a Nigerian military convoy late Friday night, killing multiple soldiers and CJTF members. The attackers were described as heavily armed, well-organized, and strategic in their assault, leaving widespread panic and heightened tension across the region.
