Uba Sani has described the housing initiative for victims of banditry under the Qatar Sanabil Project as one of the most meaningful efforts of his administration.

The governor made the remark while commissioning newly built homes under Phase 1 of the project, a collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and Qatar Charity. The initiative is designed to restore dignity and rebuild the lives of families affected by years of insecurity.

Beyond housing, the project includes a school, a clinic, and a shopping complex, forming part of a broader rehabilitation plan. Speaking at the ceremony, the governor said the initiative represents healing and fulfilment of a promise to victims.

He explained that the homes, allocated to families who lost loved ones to banditry, symbolise renewed hope, peace, and a return to normalcy for communities once devastated by violence.

Governor Sani acknowledged the deep scars left by insecurity, noting that many communities were destroyed, schools disrupted, and livelihoods lost. He stressed that true recovery goes beyond security operations, requiring deliberate efforts to rebuild lives and restore dignity.

As part of the programme, beneficiaries also received empowerment tools—including tricycles, grinding machines, salon kits, and welding equipment—to support economic independence.

The governor further commissioned a school offering free education for affected children, a healthcare facility, and a skills acquisition centre aimed at empowering youths and women.

He commended partners and stakeholders for their support, including Bola Tinubu, Nuhu Ribadu, and Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, for their roles in improving security in Kaduna State.

Governor Sani also announced plans for Phase 2 of the project, which will expand support to more communities with additional homes, schools, clinics, and water facilities.

In his remarks, Christopher Musa praised the initiative and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to supporting peace and stability in the state, while Tajudeen Abbas commended the governor’s people-focused approach and support for victims.
